MD of CHERRY takes part in charity walk

Michael Groom takes on the challenge to walk the Grand Union Canal for charity

Following the success in 2013 of Michael Groom’s Thames Path Walk, the challenge has been too tempting for him to go further and raise more money. On 23rd August 2014 the Managing Director of ZF Electronics will begin a walk of over 140 miles along the Grand Union Canal. The journey will take him from Paddington, London to Gas Street Basin in Birmingham which is part of the 2000 mile towpath maintained by British Waterways.

Michael is hoping to complete the course in less than 5 days and has a target to raise £3,500 for Keech Hospice in Luton, in memory of a colleague and ZF staff’s family members who have received care in recent years.

Keech Hospice Care provides emotional and practical support for adults and children diagnosed with a life-limiting condition. Their aim is to help patients enjoy the highest quality of life, while also providing vital support for their family and friends. Keech are one of only a handful of UK organisations offering adult and children’s services on the same site. The adult service provides care for patients primarily from Luton and South Bedfordshire, while the children’s service cares for children across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes.
