ZF\u2019s intelligent operating concept allows the switch to carry out up to six different functions. The functions available for dimming, shading operations, scene retrieval, or classic toggle operation make it possible to perfectly adapt each KNX-RF Push Button Module to the user\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text text_direction=”default”]\n

When looking to retrofit, or if subsequent cabling to the existing switch device is not possible, the ZF KNX-RF Push Button Module is the ideal solution. It is perfect for use in any location that only has a 230V supply.<\/p>\n

In addition to the ZF KNX-RF Push Button Module, in order to convert to a pure KNX-RF S-Mode System, a PC interface is also required. The KNX-RF USB Stick from Elsner Elektronik can be used for this. Setting up a KNX-RF shading system is very simple using a combination of the ZF KNX-RF Push Button Module and the Elsner RF USB Stick, in conjunction with an RF shutter actuator. Setting up the KNX-RF system is only different to that of a normal wired KNX system in the installation, in that by using the RF line and the KNX-RF USB Stick as a PC interface, the ZF-RF programming adapter is used as the temporary power supply.<\/p>\n

The four ZF KNX-RF Push Button Modules necessary in the RF system are required to operate the two lighting and three shading systems. It is possible to operate the shading either at its location, or from the designated control position. Likewise, the lighting, which can both be dimmed and simply switched, can be operated via the central ZF KNX-RF Push Button Module alone. As a result, one of the ZF KNX-RF Push Button Modules has three different functions, which in total uses all six operating points.<\/p>\n

After installing the KNX-RF Line into the system, the ZF KNX-RF Push Button Modules can be added and the specific parameters for that system can be programmed. Using the example in the image below, operating points 1 & 2 have been assigned the functionality for central operation for shading. Subsequently, the dimmable lighting can be operated via the right rocker, by operating points 3 & 4. The two remaining, purely switchable, lighting systems can each be implemented on operating points 5 & 6 as a toggle function.By assigning functions to the ZF KNX-RF Push Button Module, a combination of rocker operations and single-button operations can result from one switch with two rockers. It should be noted that the toggle operation is initiated by operating the two rockers at their respective operating points.<\/p>\n

Alternative specifications of additional pushbutton modules are set up with standard operation using a shutter actuator. This means that the shutter can be started up via operating point 2 and then shut down again using operating point 4. Once specifications have been set in the ETS, the ZF KNX-RF Push Button Modules can be reprogrammed by the physical address via the KNX-RF USB interface, outside of ETS.<\/p>\n

In order to address and apply the new parameters to the ZF KNX-RF Push Button Modules, they must first be set to programming mode. For this purpose, as a one-off requirement, they require powering up via the ZF KNX-RF Programming Adapter for the duration of the programming. The programming mode is indicated on the ZF KNX-RF Programming Adapter via a status LED.<\/p>\n
