ZF presents energy-harvesting wireless light switch module with Zig Bee 3.0 Green Power

  • Energy-harvesting wireless light switch module
  • New version for Zig Bee 3.0 Green Power
  • Immediately available

At Light+Building 2018 in Frankfurt from 18th to 23rd March, ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Business Unit Electronic Systems, shows a new wireless light switch module based on ZigBee 3.0 Green Power Standard. Visitors can experience the new device at ZF’s stand in Hall 9.0 B54.

The ZigBee RF-standard is convincingly simple to apply, flexible and energy-efficient. So it is no surprise that this standard has become one of the most commonly used smart home RF-standards for home automation, sensor networks and lighting technology. ZF is now presenting at the Light+Building 2018 in Frankfurt an energy harvesting wireless light switch module for the Zig Bee 3.0 Green Power standard.

Regardless of whether it’s being used as a light switch, with or without dimming function, for switching light scenes or as a shutter switch etc., the wireless light switch module is versatile and easy to integrate, creating significant freedom during the planning stage.

The ZigBee 3.0 Green Power standard offers many potential applications, e.g. flexible room partitions in functional buildings, glass walls, or even mounted directly on a lectern. The module is a self-sufficient and maintenance-free radio solution requiring no cabling and no batteries.

One of Zig Bee 3.0 Green Powers major advantages is the switching of scenes: Depending on customer requirements several modules can be programmed to operate at the same time. Bearing this in mind the energy-harvesting wireless light switch module offers almost endless possibilities.

Already in full production, the wireless light switch module comes ready to install. It is compatible with standard frames and panels for energy harvesting light switch modules and can also be combined with customer-specific designs and control panels.

The actuation of the switching module generates enough electrical energy to send a ZigBee Green Power protocol several times, thus enabling reliable data transmission.
