Bez\u00fcglich der technischen Ausbreitungseigenschaften gilt grunds\u00e4tzlich, dass niedrigere Frequenzen eine gr\u00f6\u00dfere \u00dcbertragungsreichweite besitzen. Auch die Ausbreitungseigenschaften in Geb\u00e4uden sind bei niedrigeren Frequenzen besser. Deshalb sind die sog. Sub-GHzFrequenzen, also unterhalb 1 GHz, besonders attraktiv. Aufgrund internationaler und nationaler Bestimmungen k\u00f6nnen aber nicht alle Frequenzen \u00fcberall eingesetzt werden. Nur das 2.4 GHz Band ist nach internationaler Definition der ITU (International Telecommunication Union) als sog ISM Band weltweit anwendbar. Das Frequenzband um 868 MHz ist nur in Europa und China verwendbar. In USA und Kanada darf dieses Band nicht umgesetzt werden. Bei den ZF Funkprodukten kommt entweder eine Drahtantenne oder eine gedruckte Leiterplattenantenne zum Einsatz. Wird eine Drahtantenne verwendet, ist dieser isolierte Draht aus dem Geh\u00e4use herausgef\u00fchrt. Um eine optimale Abstrahlung zu gew\u00e4hrleisten, sollte die Antenne nicht stark verbogen oder aufgewickelt werden. Auch sollte eine unmittelbare Ber\u00fchrung oder eine mittelbare Abschirmung durch metallische Oberfl\u00e4chen vermieden werden. Dies gilt auch f\u00fcr Produkte mit integrierter Antenne, die direkt auf der Elektronikplatine als Leiterbahn ausgef\u00fchrt ist. Resonanzfrequenz ist ein wichtiger Faktor bei der Antennenkonstruktion. Bei dieser Frequenz sind die Verluste der Antenne am geringsten. Die Resonanzfrequenz ist in der Regel die gewollte Kommunikationsfrequenz und durch die Einstellungen im Funkchip vorgegeben. Die Antenne wurde genau f\u00fcr diese Frequenz konstruktiv ausgelegt. Das hei\u00dft die L\u00e4nge der Drahtantenne entspricht exakt der konstruktiven Auslegung.
