SAG Smart Line Door Locks with ZF Energy Harvesting
Auerbach. The increasing demand for comfort, safety and energy efficiency in facility management is leading to rapidly progressing digitalisation in buildings. Considering that 90% of buildings are owned properties, wireless solutions are cost-efficient and ideal for retrofitting as they can be easily integrated in existing building automation systems.
For increased building security, SAG Smart Line mortise locks can prevent door motions (actuations of the latch or bolt). The wireless SAG Smart Line locks use an energy harvesting switch from ZF with the established EnOcean RF standard. The ZF energy harvesting switch generates the required energy for RF protocol transmission by mechanical actuation. As a wireless and batteryfree solution and due to the very small and compact size these switches from ZF offer high flexibility to fulfill individual customer requirements. Hence, these switches are completely maintenance-free and a smart, energy-saving solution for building automation systems. Besides the EnOcean RF standard which is used by SAG Smart Line Door Locks, the ZF energy harvesting switch can also be applied with protocols like KNX-RF, Bluetooth or customer-specific solutions.
By replacing existing mortise locks in a building with SAG Smart Line door locks, doors can be quickly retrofitted at low cost during ongoing operation or integrated into the building automation system. Based on the transmitted RF protocol, information about the room usage can be generated to optimise resources like heating, air conditioning or light. In addition, public toilet facilities can display whether they are vacant/occupied, or alternatively track usage to allow preparation of cleaning scheduling.
