The core element of ZF’s Energy Harvesting technology, the generator, is available in monostable (momentary) or bistable (latching) forms, with or without RF electronics.
Energy Harvesting Product Range
Energy Harvesting Technology
Energy Harvesting can be described as an ‘operation without any auxiliary energy’, as the energy is generated from the surrounding environment and then converted. ZF uses the inductive principle, meaning that the required RF energy is created by the mechanical actuation of a switch mechanism.
Instead of generating auxiliary energy through an integrated energy source or adding it via an external energy supply, kinetic energy that is acting on the system is converted.

or home using our wireless light switch module and generator.
RF Standards
The energy harvesting switch from ZF is compatible with various radio protocols. Depending on the application, these radio protocols have become established in the market which have different properties, and therefore their own advantages and disadvantages.
We set out the most important design parameters, and their correlations will be demonstrated by using the example of ZF’s energy self-sufficient and wireless switch.
